The Minister of Oil and Gas for Libya's Government of National Unity, Mohamed Oun, called for the head of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Farhat Bengdara to provide documents related to the purchase of nine power generation units for the Waha Oil Company.

Oun said the demand was "to ensure that the procedures were followed per the unified bidding and contracting regulations for oil companies affiliated with the corporation".

The oil minister indicated in a letter to the head of the NOC that "a purchase order of seven units was awarded to Siemens (UAE branch) through a limited tender."

Oun warned that "two Waha Oil partners objected to the need for the equipment at the present time," and that the operator did not obtai approval for the purchases.

He also added that "Waha intends to purchase two units from the supplier named Sirra, but we have not found any information about this company or its experience in supplying such equipment".
