Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced on Tuesday the success of drilling operations in an exploratory well belonging to the Sirte Company in the Murzuq basin.

Adding that the flow rate reached 560 barrels of oil per day.

It said in a statement that "encouraging results" were achieved after the completion of drilling operations for the exploration well "J3-NC101" at a depth of 7,833 feet.

The statement predicted higher production once the pump is replaced.

The Sirte Company was also recently able to complete drilling work in Zilten field which achieved a normal flow of 1,100 barrels per day from a depth of 5,794.

The Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the NOC thanked and appreciated the employees of Sirte for their efforts to raise production rates, in the statement.
