The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced the arrival of new equipment and spare parts for the North Benghazi power station, supplied by the American company General Electric (GE).

The company added in a statement that the equipment arrived at Tripoli seaport and will shortly be transferred to the station, as part of the continuous efforts to support and stabilize the electricity network.

The new equipment will be used by GE to implement a major overhaul of the power station's second gas unit.
