Mellitah Oil and Gas Company announced on Tuesday, the completion of maintenance operations on wells at the Al-Wafa field, removing limescale and salt on wells A52 and A54, with the production capacity after the operation reaching 2,000 barrels of oil per day.

In a statement, the company said that this maintenance comes within the plans to improve and raise the level of production at the field.

It added that well A58 was also tested and has a production capacity of 2,470 barrels per day.

Mellitah Oil and Gas Company said it plans to increase its production capacity by 38,000 barrels per day, thanks to drilling and plans to connect a number of wells during 2022.

On January 4, the head of the operator’s management committee, Bashir Abdel Salam, said that the company is determined to implement several projects to raise production capacity, including: the Bouri gas field exploitation project and projects for installing gas compressors on the Sabratha platform, in addition to drilling and linking a number of wells, which will raise the company’s production capacity by about 38,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
