Al-Sarraj mourns Emir of Kuwait, says "we lost a wise leader who was seeking to reunite and heal rifts"

The head of Libya's Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, sent a message of condolence to the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to offer condolences on the death of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who died on Tuesday.

The media office for the Presidential Council said that Al-Sarraj expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy for the deceased, praying to God to bestow his mercy on him and to inspire his family and the brother Kuwaiti people with patience and good consolation.

Al-Sarraj said: “With the death of His Highness Sheikh Sabah, we lost a wise leader who devoted his life to the service of his country and the Arab and Islamic nations, and he was throughout his life striving for reunification, healing rifts and unifying Arab positions.”

The Kuwaiti Cabinet announced this evening that Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has become the Emir of the country.

Earlier today, the Amiri Diwan in Kuwait announced the death of the Amir, Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, at the age of 91.
