The Attorney General's Office announced on Wednesday evening the arrest of the Chairman of the Management Committee of Mabruk Oil Operations Company.

The office said in a statement that an investigation revealed evidence of misconduct regarding a contract concluded with a foreign company specialized in providing technical support.

The prosecurot concluded that the official ignored recommendations from his oil reservoir engineering consultants and deliberately signed a technical support contract valued at two million dollars causing damage to the state owned company.
