The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced the delivery of essential medicines to Derna field hospitals sufficient to treat more than 10,000 patients.
UNHCR also provided two medical tents and two generators to the Ministry of Health's emergency room and Ain Mara Hospital to strengthen their emergency response, according to a statement on Monday.
On 15 September, UNHCR launched an appeal for relief for those affected by the floods in eastern Libya caused by Storm Daniel.
It urged donations to provide relief for thousands of people and families, noting that the natural disaster "threatens the lives of tens of thousands of refugees and internally displaced people in Libya," adding that it has provided emergency assistance to those affected by devastating floods by working closely with local and international partners, sending emergency supplies such as sleeping mats, tents, blankets and solar lamps.
