The Man-Made River Authority announced on Saturday that it has nearly completed construction on a temporary bridge linking the eastern and western parts of the city of Derna.
In a brief statement, the Implementation and Management Authority of the Man-Made River thanked everyone involved in the project, without adding further details.
Last Monday, Libya's interim Government of National Unity announced the start of construction on a 21-meter-wide bridge that would connect the east and west of Derna.
The project implemented by the Man-Made River Authority and the River Pipe Manufacturing Company also includes 18 pipes with a diameter of 1.6 meters for water drainage.
Storm Daniel caused severe damage to the infrastructure in the city of Derna, and the collapse of a 30-kilometer road network, according to a report issued on September 13 by the Roads and Bridges Authority.
