Government of National Unity (GNU) Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba, asked the chairman of the board of directors of Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Bengdara, to coordinate with the emergency committee assigned by the government in order to determine the needs of municipalities in the eastern region.
This came during a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office in Tripoli on Wednesday to discuss NOC efforts for "alleviating living conditions in the municipalities of the eastern region," according to a statement.
The statement noted that they also efforts to coordinate with international companies to provide technical support and equipment for rescue operations, such as boats, helicopters and helicopters, noting that "Dabaiba directed the need to coordinate with the government's emergency and rapid response team on identifying the necessary needs."
The GNU formed an emergency and rapid response committee earlier this week to deal with Storm Daniel, which swept through eastern Libya on Sunday and Monday, causing floods that left thousands dead, wounded, missing and displaced in the city of Derna and the areas of the Green Mountain.
