The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced on Tuesday evening the entry of the sixth gas unit at the North Benghazi power station into the electricity network, at its full capacity of 250MW, stressing that it will support the stability of the public electricity network.

The entry of the unit into the network comes after the completion of the major overhaul work according to a company statement.

GECOL added that this step comes as part of its continuous efforts to implement its strategic plan to increase the company's production capabilities.
