The parliament-appointed Government of National Stability headed by Osama Hammad discussed the political, financial and security situation in the country during its meeting on Monday.

The meeting held at the Cabinet Hall in Benghazi was attended by deputy prime ministers, Ali Al-Qatrani, Salem Al-Zadma and Khaled Al-Usta.

This is the first meeting of the government following a parliament vote to suspend its former leader, Fathi Bashagha, last Tuesday.

During a speech at the meeting, Hammad pledged that the government would work to “provide urgent and necessary services, and adopt policies aimed at gathering the nation’s diaspora,” calling for concerted efforts by the ministers to get the country out of the current crises.

On Sunday, Hammad stressed that his government “will work to open channels of communication with everyone and support the efforts to make the reconciliation process successful among Libyans, according to a real legal framework for transitional justice.”
