Libyan Government of National Unity Foreign Minister, Najla Mangoush, received the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi, at her office in Tripoli, on the occasion of the end of his duties in the country.

Mangoush praised "Giuseppe's efforts, which he made as a resident ambassador during his tenure in 2011 and again since 2019, in strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries," according to a statement published by the ministry.

The statement added that Mangoush also praised "the role of the Italian diplomatic mission, which did not leave Libya despite all the circumstances that the country witnessed during the past years."

It also quoted the Italian ambassador giving his "thanks for the facilities provided to him by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of National Unity during his tenure in the country."
