The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced on Sunday, the continuation of the major overhaul work at the first gas unit of the Al-Khoms power plant.

The company added that specialists from the US company General Electric (GE) are assisting in the installation of turbine components.

Over the course of January, new equipment and spare parts arrived at the Al-Khoms power plant from abroad, after contracts were activated to carry out long-term maintenance of generation units.
