The Foreign Minister for Libya's Government of National Unity, Najla Mangoush, is in Venice ahead of the delivery of a newly manufactured “class 300″ patrol boats scheduled for Monday. 

According to Italy's Agenzia Nova, a handover ceremony will be held on February 6th at the Vittoria shipyard, followed by a joint press conference with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Oliver Varhelyi, and Mangoush.

The boats are being supplied as part of the Sibmmil European project financed by the “Trust Fund Africa” of which Italy is the main implementing entity through its Ministry of the Interior. 

The project was launched in July 2017 with the aim of strengthening the capacity of competent Libyan authorities in border and migration management.
