Tripoli's Security Directorate announced the arrest of 16 street beggars of different nationalities during a security campaign to combat the practice in the city.

Members of the Special Tasks Unit and the Tripoli Criminal Investigation Office participated in the campaign according to a statement.

Last December, the Tripoli Security Directorate launched a campaign to combat beggary in the capital, which resulted in the arrest of 14  individuals of various foreign nationalities.
