The head of the interim Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, said on Monday, that 2023 will be the year of holding elections, saying that "Libyan blood will not be fuel for war."

Dabaiba added at a cabinet meeting: "Our position towards the elections is firm and unwavering, and the so-called force majeure is nothing but the intimidation of Libyans."

He then accused Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh and High Council of State leader, Khaled Al-Mishri, of "evading their responsibilities and depriving 2.8 million voters of their electoral right on December 24, 2021."
