During a visit to Ankara, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Public Affairs for Libya's Government of National Unity, Major General Mahmoud Saeed, discussed the file of Libyans detained in Turkey, and issues facing students and the Libyan community in Turkey.

This came during a meeting with the Turkish Deputy Interior Minister.

A statement also quoted the Undersecretary as "praising the efforts and support provided by the Turkish Ministry of Interior to graduate a batch of the Police Aviation Institute's employees during the previous period."

The two sides agreed, according to the statement, to continue communication through security attaches at the embassy and the Consulate General in Istanbul with their counterparts in the Turkish Ministry of Interior to solve problems, exchange information about prisoners and detainees, and inform the embassy accredited to Turkey of the status of Libyan citizens held by the Turkish authorities.
