The Interior Minister for the parliament-appointed Government of National Stability, Issam Abu Zariba, affirmed his keenness to provide all needs and fully re-activate the role of the police and security services in Murzuq.

This came during a visit to the headquarters of the Murzuq Security Directorate, accompanied by the director of the Financial Affairs Department, the head of the ministry's office in the south, the directors of the Sebha and Al-Shati Security Directorates, and the director of the Central Support Department branch in the southern region.

A statement from the government headed by Fathi Bashagha stated that Abu Zariba was briefed during the visit on a number of security issues in the region.

The statement added that the minister listened to "full explanations about the needs, deficiencies, and obstacles they face" in addition to "the security and administrative work carried out by the directorate in order to maintain security."
