Libyan Presidential Council leader Mohamed Menfi left Algeria on Wednesday evening after meeting with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, concluding his two-day official visit.

An official farewell ceremony took place for the Menfi at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers, where Prime Minister Ayman Ben Abdelrahman and a number of Algerian officials were present.

Menfi reiterated the importance of elections and a constitutional base as a beginning to reach stability for the Libyan people, hoping for the success of Algerian diplomacy during the upcoming Arab summit in reaching a unified Arab position on Libya.

During his visit to Algeria, Menfi was accompanied by the head of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant-General Hussein Al-Aib and the dismissed member of Parliament, Ziad Dghaim.
