Libyan Presidential Council leader Mohamed Menfi said that he discussed with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, "Algeria's important role, especially in the Arab summit, to bring forth a unified Arab position on Libya."

During a press conference with Tebboune in Algiers, Menfi re-emphasized the importance of elections and a constitutional basis as a start to achieving stability for the Libyan people.

For his part, the Algerian president expressed hope that "2023 will be the year when tragedy ends for the Libyan people, and elections will be held without external interference."
