Bashagha says will announce plan for "simultaneous, free and fair" elections

Libya's parliament-appointed prime minister, Fathi Bashagha, said he will soon announce a plan that will focus on “bringing stability, peace and prosperity… and ensures that we reach simultaneous, free and fair presidential and legislative elections.”

Bashagha added on Monday, that he had held "fruitful and constructive meetings with friendly and brotherly countries," continuing: "I highly value the positivity and readiness for cooperation and joint action".

He continued, "We will rise in Libya on the basis of democracy, and based on the will of the Libyan people, who deserve to live in economic and social peace."

On September 3, Bashagha revealed that he had held a "positive and fruitful call" with the US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland.

He explained that the conversation touched on the "importance of the international community's continued support for Libya in order to achieve economic and political stability."
