Menfi discusses return of Maltese companies to Libya with ambassador Saliba

The Ambassador of Malta to Libya, Charles Saliba, briefed Libyan Presidential Council leader, Mohamed Menfi, on the procedures for the return of Maltese companies to Libya, stressing his country's readiness to support everything that enables the Libyans to overcome the current crisis.

This came during a meeting held on Monday to discuss developments in the political situation in Libya, according to a statement from the Presidential Council.

The statement added that the ambassador gave a briefing on his recent visit to the city of Benghazi and the progress made in returning flights and the granting of visas to citizens of the two countries.

The President of the Presidential Council praised “the depth of bilateral relations between Malta and Libya, and noted the cultural and geographical interdependence between the two countries,” stressing the importance of activating the work of the joint committees and praising Malta’s role in supporting stability in Libya.

Menfi reiterated the Presidential Council's focus on the need to maintain stability and the unity of institutions in Libya, in order to reach elections as soon as possible to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people.
