Japanese Chargé d'Affairs says logistical arrangements to resume work from Tripoli nearing completion

The Chargé d'Affairs of the Japanese Embassy in Libya, Masaki Amadera, expressed his "happiness for the near completion of the logistical arrangements necessary to resume his work from Tripoli in the near future," during a meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister Najla Mangoush.

According to a statement by the Government of National Unity, Chargé d'Affairs Amadera valued "the efforts of the Government of National Unity to contain political and security problems, with the aim of enhancing stability and imposing security in Libya."

In May, the Ministry of Interior confirmed it was discussing security arrangements to reopen the Japanese Embassy in Tripoli.

Tokyo International Conference on Development

The Japanese diplomat invited the Foreign Minister Mangoush to participate in the 8th Tokyo International Conference on Development, which will be hosted in Tunisia on August 27-28.

He stressed the importance of Libya’s participation in this conference, in light of strengthening the African-Japanese partnership, to achieve the aspirations of the African peoples in stability and prosperity.

Mangoush also stressed "the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, especially in the field of economy and education between the two friendly countries, because of the pioneering experience of the State of Japan in these fields."
