The spokesman for the Libyan National Army's (LNA) General Command, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, denied news that the army and the government headed by Fathi Bashagha, issued instructions to start the gradual closure of all ports, oil fields and gas pipelines in Libya, starting Sunday.

Al-Mismari said in a brief statement that this is "false and baseless news."

On Saturday, representatives of the General Command in the 5 + 5 Joint Military Commission announced the suspension of all their work in the commission until their demands were considered. They also noted that the Government of National Unity headed by Abdulhamid Dabaiba had taken a number of measures to impede the completion of the terms of the ceasefire agreement signed in October 2020.

In a statement, they demanded from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to halt the export of oil, to close the coastal road linking the east and west of the country and to stop all aspects of cooperation with the Government of National Unity.
