The commander of the so-called Somoud Brigade, Salah Badi, threatened to close all state institutions in Tripoli, because they “work for outsiders.”

This came in a video clip, circulated on Facebook, showing Badi speaking to a group of his supporters, in which he attacked United Nations Advisor Stephanie Williams and the elections.

Badi continued, "There will be no presidential elections as long as our men are present. I agreed with closing all state institutions in Tripoli."

Badi attacked Stephanie Williams, saying  "you will not stay on our lands," due to her "criminal role" during the April 2019 attack on Tripoli.

He continued, "we are not satisfied with elections in this way, things will change from this hour and we have agreed on a simple decision that will turn things upside down."

Meanwhile, activists reported that an armed group of unknown affiliation had taken control of the Prime Minister's headquarters on the Sikka road in Tripoli.
