Bashagha meets with Egyptian delegation, says looking at "ways to enhance security cooperation between the two brotherly countries"

Government of National Accord (GNA) Interior minister Fathi Bashagha, held a meeting with a high-level Egyptian delegation visiting Tripoli, to discussed "common security challenges and ways to strengthen security cooperation between the two brotherly countries."

The meeting, which was held on Sunday morning in the presence of the head of the intelligence service Imad Trabelsi, also discussed ways to support the ceasefire agreement and discuss the outputs of the "5+5" Defense Committee, in order to "support the UN efforts on political dialogue and exit the current crisis through political and peaceful ways."

An Interior Ministry statement said that the meeting "aims to strengthen cooperation relations with brotherly and friendly countries, and the importance of joint work between Cairo and Tripoli."

This is the first official visit by an Egyptian delegation to Tripoli in 6 years.
