The Libyan National Amry's General Command Information Office said that commander-in-chief Marshal Khalifa Haftar was briefed on the implementation of the Joint Security chamber and its security and military agencies.

According to a statement the office said during Haftar's meeting with the chairman and members of the Joint Security chamber, "reviewed the plans and tasks of the second phase of the law enforcement operation targeting criminals and outlaws in the city of Benghazi".

Haftar stressed, according to the statement, "the speed of execution of orders and the need for continued efforts to impose security and dissatisfaction with what has been achieved until the whole process is completed and security is completely under control in the streets of Benghazi."

The formation of a security chamber for the greater Benghazi region, headed by Chief of General Staff General Abdulraziq Al-Nadouri, was announced in November on the instructions of Marshal Haftar.
