A sudden storm hit a number of neighborhoods in Tripoli on Tuesday evening uprooting palm trees and causing damage to a number of public roads and private property.

The Traffic Affairs Office for the Tripoli Security Directorate appealed to citizens to exercise caution while driving on the highway, wishing safety for all, according to a notice.

The National Center of Meteorology expects heavy rain and warned of strong northwesterly winds this evening, with a speed of 25 knots.

The National Safety Authority calls on citizens to remove everything that is subject to being swept up in winds and not to leave children alone outside the home.

The National Safety Authority in Tripoli also published special instructions for citizens regarding the prevention of lightning strikes and dealing with the heavy rains.
