The Presidential Council condemned the aerial bombardment that targeted on Monday the residential neighborhood of Al-Furnaj near Tripoli.

"This criminal act committed by Haftar is added to a series of repeated attacks on airports and public property," the council said in a statement. The Council held the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) responsible, calling on it to work to protect civilians in accordance with Security Council resolutions.

Medical sources said that three people were killed in an initial toll of warplane shelling on the area south of the capital Tripoli.
