A number of residents of the Wadi Al-Hunaywah area on the outskirts of Sirte (50 km) said on Monday that ISIS members erected a checkpoint for inspection last night, on a roundabout which links the Sirte-Benghazi coastal road, Hunaywah and Abuhadi.

They explained to the Alwasat that two cars with ISIS banners blocked the road and masked individuals stopped cars from passing. They pointed out that these maked individuals have so far only focused on identity checks.

It is noteworthy that Presidential Council PM Fayez Al-Sarraj officially announced on December 18, 2016 the liberation of Sirte from the grip of the ISIS, but stressed that the war on the on terrorism in Libya still continues.
