The emergency department at Brak General Hospital received 12 cases of individuals stung by scorpions on Thursday.

The hospital called on citizens to take caution, especially children, according to a statement released on Friday.

It also confirmed the availability of the anti-scorpion venom serum but warned that the cases may arrive to the hospital in critical condition due to delays in transferring them to the hospital.

The hospital advised citizens to follow several procedures in the event of a scorpion sting.

The first of which was to calm the injured person and not move them. Then wipe the location of the injury with alcohol, soap and water, and cool it with ice, to reduce the absorption of the poison before arriving at the hospital.
