The Libyan Iron and Steel Company announced the production of 102,223 tons of sponge iron in October, the first time that level has been achieved since 2011.

The company's management praised the efforts made by workers along with colleagues from partner company Elteam.

The announcement comes two days after the company confirmed that it produced 70,000 tons of hot molded iron for the first time in its history during October.
