The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced the arrival of 7 shipments of spare parts for generating units at the North Benghazi dual-cycle power station, to the company's main distribution center via Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli.

The company stated on its Facebook page that the shipments that arrived in its warehouses included 64 parcels supplied by Germany's Siemens and U.S. company General Electric.

The company added that these packages “contain spare parts and equipment to complete the major overhaul of the sixth gas unit, which is currently being implemented by Siemens, as well as the first gas unit, which will undergo major overhaul work during the next month.”

The company added that these shipments come as part of its continuous efforts to renew production units in support of the electrical network and increasing performance.
