The Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) announced that Schlumberger (SLB) has provided it with an integrated seismic monitoring system that will assist in oil exploration.

In a statement on Thursday, AGOCO indicated that the system is being operated by a group of specialists affiliated with SLB along with a group of Libyan experts and specialists.

The statement added that SLB has started a program to train local personnel and qualify them to operate the system, which is the only one in Libya and the first of its kind in North Africa.

This comes after the regional director of computer software and studies at SLB, Fernando Roggi, visited AGOCO headquarters on Wednesday, where he was received by a number of company officials.
