A meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Interim Government of National Unity discussed the return of companies and the Chinese embassy to Libya on Monday.

The Director of the Asia and Australia Department at the Ministry, Ahmed Al-Naas, met with the Chargé d'Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Libya Wang Qimin, and they discussed the revival of the Libyan-Chinese Joint Committee and the political consultation agreement between the two countries.

The ministry said in a statement that the agreement would encourage Chinese companies to resume their activities in Libya, as well as the return of the Chinese embassy to work in the capital, Tripoli, and activate its consular section to provide the necessary services to citizens of Tripoli.

The Chinese official affirmed his country's support for the national unity government, "which seeks to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people to achieve development, restore security and stability, unify institutions and preserve national sovereignty," according to the statement.
