Tunisia, Algeria say coordinating to insure success of 'Libya Stability Initiative' conference

Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Othman Jerandi agreed with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra on the importance of good preparation for the success of the "Libya Stability Initiative" conference, which is scheduled to be held in Tripoli within days.

This came during phone conversations between Jerandi and Lamamra, immediately after the renewal of his appointment to the new government in Tunisia, headed by Najla Bouden. The counterparts praised the consensus of views and the convergence of visions on the Libyan file, according to the Tunisian Foreign Ministry in a statement on Thursday.

At the end of the call, Jerandi reiterated that President Kais Saied looked forward to receiving President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in Tunisia soon.

The “Libya Stability” initiative, which was put forward by the interim Government of National Unity last June.
