The Chadian military authorities arrested 22 young men from the Hadjer-Lamis region attempting to enter Libya illegally on Wednesday.

The authorities stressed that "this phenomenon continues in full view and hearing of everyone," calling for residents to help to dismantle human traffickers networks and stop weapons smuggling.

This comes at a time when mercenaries from several countries are present in southern Libya, most notably from Chad and Sudan, including the 'Front for Change and Concord in Chad' responsible for killing former President Idriss Deby last April.
