Moscow "maintains active face-to-face and telephone contacts with all parties to the Libyan conflict," a diplomatic source told Russian news agency TASS, coinciding with the visit of a delegation representing the Libyan National Army's (LNA) General Command.

The source also stressed that such contacts were particularly important today, since "the situation in Libya remains complex".

On Wednesday, the Director of the LNA's Moral Guidance Department announced that a military delegation headed by General Khairy Al-Tamimi arrived in Moscow, carrying with him a letter to Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu from Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has already called for "the involvement of all the forces involved in the process of resolving the Libyan crisis, including LNA leadership and representatives of the former regime," and expressed readiness to assist the new authorities who took power last March in holding the referendum on the Constitution and organizing the end-of-year elections.
