Al-Sisi, Johnson underscore importance of continuing Libya political process leading to December elections

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson discussed the latest developments in Libya, and the importance of moving forward in the political transition process with a view to resolving the crisis once and for all, until elections due at the end of December this year.

This came in a telephone call on Tuesday evening, the two sides stressed the need for the exit of mercenaries, militias and foreign forces from Libya, and to preserve the unity of Libyan territory and the integrity of its national institutions, thereby halting prospects of an outbreak of chaos, according to a statement

The communication also addressed the most prominent issues of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially trade, investment, health, security cooperation and counter-terrorism efforts.  They also exchanged views on the latest developments on the issue of the Renaissance Dam.
