Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday stressed the need "not to waste the opportunity for peace and stability in Libya," according to a statement issued by the Turkish presidential liaison office.
Erdogan's comments came during a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, during a discussion on ways to strengthen bilateral relations on number of regional files.
On February 6, President Erdogan congratulated the Mohamed Menfi for winning the leadership of the Presidential Council and Abdulhamid Dabaiba for winning the post of prime minister. He stressed Turkey's keenness to further develop cooperation with Libya in the new phase.
In the two phone calls with Menfi and Dabaiba, Erdogan stressed Turkey's continued support to maintain Libya's political and geographical unity and contribute to stability, peace, security and well-being for its people.
