Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte called on his Spanish counterpart, Pedro Sanchez, to seek together to contribute to the stabilization of Libya and Lebanon.
"We have to work to contribute to the stability of regions such as Libya and Lebanon," Conte said, addressing the Italian-Spanish Dialogue Forum meeting in Rome, according to the Italian news agency AKI.
AKI reported on Tuesday, that the head of Libya's Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Siala and the Minister of the Interior Fathi Bashagha, would visit the Italian capital, Rome on Wednesday.
AKI added that Bashagha is expected to arrive in Rome tomorrow, while Al-Sarraj and Siala will visit on Thursday.
Prime Minister Conte said on Sunday that his country is not a party to the fighting in Libya, and would not participate in a proxy war, stressing that Italy supports a political solution and dialogue.
