Macron and Putin agree on the need to restore stability to Libya ahead of summit

French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed on the need to restore stability to Libya at a time when the latter expressed his desire to know the position of Paris on the recent events.

In a joint press conference with Putin ahead of the Russian-French summit on Monday night, Macron called for peace in Libya.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his desire to hear France's position on the Libyan issue in order to coordinate efforts to achieve reconciliation between the conflicting parties in Libya.

Putin considered the issue of Libya "important," and requires "reconciliation between the conflicting parties."
