Group arrested for forging Libyan and African passports in Benghazi

Members of the Benghazi Criminal Investigation Division arrested a group of expatriates involved in forging Libyan and other African passports.

According to a statement from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior in Fathi Bashagha's government, the group cooperates with a person in the western region and sends the forged documents through the city of Sebha.

The defendants initially claimed that they were Libyans but were found in possession of a forged military ID cards, forged Libyan, Chadian and Nigerien passports, in addition to identification papers, personal ID cards and driving licenses.

After they confessed, they were referred to the Public Prosecution Office for legal action.
