The General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons announced that 25 unidentified bodies had been recovered, which were found in five mass and two other bodies from individual graves in Tarhuna.
The authority said in a statement on Tuesday, that search teams worked on five sites in the city's public landfill.
It added that the teams carried out the exhumations, despite the difficulty of working at the landfill and exposing them to danger in terms of odors, fumes and rodents.
According to the statement, ten unidentified bodies were extracted from the first mass grave, nine from the second, four from the third, and two bodies from individual graves. The authority stressed that work is continuing on the remaining reports received by the commission.
