An Egyptian diplomatic delegation met on Thursday with a number of Libyan officials in Benghazi to discuss procedures relating to reopening of the Egyptian consulate in the city during the upcoming period and cooperation with the Libyan authorities in a number of files.
The Egyptian diplomatic delegation headed by Deputy Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Abdelhamid, arrived in Benghazi and was received by the chairman of the Municipal Governing cCuncil, Saqr Bujawari, in the presence of members of the Benghazi Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The Municipality of Benghazi said that the Egyptian delegation discussed "actions related to the opening of the Egyptian consulate in the near future and legal coordination with Egyptian authorities."
The meeting also discussed "joint cooperation regarding the holding of a meeting of Egyptian and Libyan businessmen in Benghazi through the Chambers of Commerce of both parties, in addition to overcoming the difficulties facing the Egyptian school in Benghazi," the municipality added.
Abdelhamid praised the reception and cooperation shown by the municipality on working to speed the reopening of the Egyptian consulate in the city.
