Germany's ambassador to Libya, Oliver Owcza, held a telephone call with the new head of Libya's Presidential Council chosen by the political dialogue, Mohamed Menfi, confirming his country's support for the new presidential council to "reach a solution to the Libyan crisis."
In a statement, Menfi's media office said the call marked "an exchange of views on the overall bilateral relations between the two countries and topics of common interest."
The political dialogue forum chose Menfi to head the new presidential council on February 5th, with Abdullah Al-Lafi and Moussa Al-Kouni as deputies, in addition to Abdulhamid Dabaiba as head of the government in the interim unified executive authority, which is scheduled to run the country's affairs until the general elections on December 24th.
Abdulhamid Dabaiba must form his government and submit it to the House of Representatives to gain his confidence, before it can formally begin its duties.
