The head of Libya's new Presidential Council chosen by Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, Mohammed Menfi, praised Tunisia's "positive role" in supporting the political path in Libya on Thursday, while looking forward to strengthening "bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries."

This came during a meeting in Tripoli with the Tunisian ambassador to Libya, Asaad Al-Ajili, who congratulated Menfi and his two deputies on the "election of their list" at the forum and wished them "success in their next mission to unite state institutions and steering the country to elections."

The political dialogue forum chose Menfi to head the new presidential council on February 5th, with Abdullah Al-Lafi and Moussa Al-Kouni as deputies, in addition to Abdulhamid Dabaiba as head of the government in the interim unified executive authority, which is scheduled to run the country's affairs until the general elections on December 24th.
