The Italian Embassy in Libya said a "cordial and detailed" meeting today brought together the prime minister-designate, Abdulhamid Dabaiba and Italy's ambassador to Libya Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi.
The embassy said through its official Twitter page that the meeting was a "friendly signal to Italy, which has kept its embassy open even during the war."
"Today, the close friendship and brotherhood between Libya and Italy and their two peoples, who are ready to work together for a peaceful and stable future in Libya and in the Mediterranean, is reaffirmed."
Earlier today, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi confirmed during a telephone call with Dabiaba, that Egypt is ready to continue to "meet all the needs of Libyan brothers to restore stability to the country, as an extension of the course of historical relations that unite the two brotherly peoples."
The spokesman of the Egyptian presidency said that El-Sisi congratulated Dabaiba "on gaining the trust of the members of the political dialogue forum", wishing him and the Libyan people every success.
