Libya Presidential Council Deputy Ahmed Maiteeg confirmed "the implementation of the agreements between Libya and Italy in many areas, in particular the coastal road agreement (Ras Ajdir - Misrata), and the resumption of flights between Libyan and Italian airports.

This came after a meeting with Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio in Rome, where the two sides also discussed "the Libyan political dialogue and the efforts made by the Italian side to ensure its success in order to reach a presidential election that will lead to the stability of the country," according to a statement.

Maiteeg arrived in Rome on Monday, where he also met with Italian Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerini, who confirmed "working for the success of a military technical agreement signed between the Libyan and Italian defense ministries".

Maiteeg also met with Italian interior minister Luciana Lamorgese earlier today to discuss "the implementation of the terms of the agreement signed between Libya and Italy in the field of training a counter-terrorism force and border guards", as well as "the possibility of establishing a general principle regarding the future exchange of prisoners."
