The Egyptian delegation, which visited the Libyan capital on Sunday, "promised to reopen the Egyptian embassy and return to work from inside Tripoli as soon as possible," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the Government of National Accord (GNA).

The Egyptian delegation, which included members of the Egyptian National Committee on Libya, headed by Major General Ayman Badie, and the director of the Department on Libya, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed Abubakar, began their meetings in Tripoli with a discussion with GNA Foreign Minister Mohammed Siala.

The GNA Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on its website that the meeting with Siala "reviewed all areas of cooperation between the two countries and agreed to strengthen and develop them in all fields and push them to wider horizons in the interest of the two countries."

Adding that Siala "presented several options for the Egyptian delegation to resume the work of the embassy again from the capital."
